HANS – was founded in 2002 by a physician and nurse, Paul and Linda Lee, parents of a child severely affected with autism since birth. Their son, nicknamed Tiger, because he had growled from shortly after his birth, was diagnosed with classic autism a few months after his second birthday. Despite over forty years combined mainstream medical experience they discovered that they had not received any training that could have helped them to recognize their son’s autism. As a result, they founded HANS to address this knowledge gap, developing materials collaboratively with both medical and educational experts. HANS has focused on creating user-friendly materials to help parents, caregivers, and professionals working with children with autism. As a HANS partner, we feel privileged to translate their materials,  including a brochure for parents, the CHAT (Checklist for Autism in Toddlers) poster and the HANS ‘Physicians Handbook’ in Urdu. These documents are a great source of information and awareness for the Urdu-speaking community worldwide. Thanks to Linda Lee, Executive Director of HANS and her team member, Cheryl Clark, for their continuous support and cooperation for translating their resource material.
